What is Local Hack Day?

Local Hack Day is a worldwide event organized by Major League Hacking and hosted by GitHub. Think of it as a mini-hackathon. The event brings together students from across the world for one day of hacking. To learn more and see other schools participating in Local Hack Day, see localhackday.mlh.io.

Who can participate?

[email protected]’s edition of Local Hack Day is open to all university students.

Will there be food?

Yes! We will provide hackers with meals and snacks! If you have a dietary restriction, please make note of it during registration so we can make necessary accommodations.

Will there be swag?

Do I have to be a Computer Science major or know how to program?

Not at all! This mini-hackathon is a perfect time to learn and grow as a programmer. Whether you’re new to hackathons or a seasoned veteran, you won’t want to miss the largest hacking event on the planet!

Can I win prizes at Local Hack Day?

Local Hack Day is not a competition - projects won’t be judged and there are no prizes. However, it is a great chance to learn, grow, and be a part of the hacking community!
